Lunar Pest Control Hires Wildlife Expert to Remove Unwelcome Pests

PHOENIX AND TEMPE, Ariz. - July 8, 2025 - PRLog -- Benjamin Franklin's proverb, "Guests, like fish, begin to smell after three days" applies to more than visitors from out of town. Snakes, foxes, roof rats, bats, gophers and squirrels are invading Valley homes, yards and attics, causing damage and exposing families to serious stress and health issues.

To help quell the attack, Zach Jolley, one of the owners of Lunar Pest Control in Chandler, hired Jacquie Leivas, a wildlife expert, to humanely trap destructive wildlife such as raccoons, skunks, coyotes, foxes and more and humanely trap the critters and prevent further damage.

She has worked in the pest control industry for over nine years providing specialized rodent control and nuisance wildlife removal.

"From rattlesnake removal to full home exclusions, Jacquie does it all with a unique understanding and application of animal behavior and biology," said Jolley. "Jacquie and the technicians on our team handle cleanup, sanitation, and exclusion-protecting your home or business from bio-hazards and future wildlife issues,"

Leivas and her coworkers at Lunar Pest Control also safely remove sick, injured or animals from property to prevent health risks and odors. This also applies to animals that are trapped in walls, attics, chimney, or fences.

In addition to regular pest control, Leivas suggests a few precautions homeowners can take.
  • Install weather-stripping around loose-fitting doors and windows.
  • Avoid feeding birds or limit the amount of bird seed out so that the birds finish it all in the morning. Any seeds that sit out overnight can attract rodents and squirrels.
  • Bird feeders and quail blocks attract birds, rabbits and squirrels. They can also attract predators of those animals like snakes.
  • Keep plants that are close to the house and in the yard trimmed up off the ground so you can see underneath.
  • Homeowners with doggy doors should check the seal and magnets. If possible, it is best to seal the door at night. Rats and raccoons often enter at night through the doggy door.
  • When it comes to fruit trees, it is important to not only the fruit off the ground but also in the tree. Roof rats are exceptional climbers and will often eat fruit like oranges and pomegranates right off the branch.
