Sine Nomine Associates: OpenAFS - Maintenance Release for UNIX/Linux Announced

Dec. 15, 2021 - PRLog -- Sine Nomine Associates, Inc., a leader in open-source development and support, is pleased to announce the OpenAFS development release team's Holiday gift for OpenAFS users.

OpenAFS is the next release in the current stable series of OpenAFS releases for UNIX/Linux systems. It adds support for current Linux mainline kernels (5.14, 5.15 and likely the upcoming 5.16), improves support for FreeBSD 12, and allows Solaris builds using Studio 12.6. Systems not requiring any of those changes can continue to use the 1.8.8 release.

Having worked with IBM Z for 40 years, and Linux for over 25 years, our team has helped to develop mainframe capabilities to levels never imagined. Similarly, our team members have been early contributors to the opensource community for decades and continue to do so. Our involvement in the open-source OpenAFS project from the beginning to the present has opened the doors to some of the largest OpenAFS architectures in the world. Our company offer guidance for configuration and new feature development as well as training in all aspects of OpenAFS.

Margarete Ziemer, CEO, emphasizes: "We are proud to say we continue to support the open-source community with a sharp focus on the mainframe and OpenAFS areas. We sincerely thank all our past and current customers and our associates. We are always ready to tackle your problems with custom solutions, particularly in the open-source space."
