Professional football player, Paul Terry, teams up with Operation: Care & Comfort

AMARILLO, Texas - Jan. 27, 2022 - PRLog -- Professional Indoor Football player, Paul Terry, partnered with Operation: Care & Comfort this last week and sent a care package to a local Texas troop. Without the help from Julie at Operation: Care & Comfort we would have never been able to find a troop to support over the holiday season.

Paul Terry, being a Texas native, wanted to support a troop from his home state over the holiday season. On top of sending essentials, Paul sent something that was of extreme importance to him; his Dream Bowl All-Star game jersey. He also included a hand-written note expressing his gratitude for his service to our country and explaining what his football experience has been like thus far.

"I feel like our troops never get enough credit for the sacrifices they make," said Terry. "For this reason, I felt like it was important to send out a care package."

Operation: Care & Comfort has been providing troops in combat areas with care packages for almost 20 years. Founded in 2003, OCC's initial focus was providing monthly care packages for 19 deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq. OCC now provides support and comfort to dozens of "adopted" units of deployed U.S. military service members, serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other conflict regions. OCC assembles and mails care packages to these adopted units until they return home. They are currently supporting dozens of units and ships on a monthly basis. Over a million pounds of care packages have been packed and mailed by OCC!

Operation: Care & Comfort holds large public care package events quarterly, with smaller packing events in between. Other programs within OCC are the Adopt a Military Family, Tickets for Troops, Charity Poker Tournament and an Annual Golf Classic. This opportunity with Operation: Care & Comfort was the best way for Paul to show his support to our military and say thank you.
