About half of a school day was devoted to academic subjects, the other half was spent learning about machine tools and woodworking. They were perfectionists, their designs exhibited no compromises. The only thing that mattered to them was that the finished product was both beautiful and functional. Today, Apple's products (Iphones, Mac computers) exhibit these same traits. They are sleek, beautiful, and functional while concealing enormous complexities on the inside. The Greenes' designs were detailed and only the very finest craftsmen could produce them. Interestingly, another pair of brothers (Peter and John Hall) were responsible for building the designs from their workshop in Pasadena, California. This high level of quality also meant low production volumes. Predictably, their clientele consisted of a small number of extremely wealthy people. Plans for building this and other fine furniture are available here: http://www.woodprojects.info End
