By: LRP Media Group De Filippi, permanent researcher at the National Center of Scientific Research (CNRS) and author of Blockchain and the Law, will discuss new opportunities provided by blockchain technology in the education sector in her keynote titled, Leveraging Blockchain in Education: Transparency, Accountability & Interoperability. The presentation will dive into her investigations into this new and exciting technology plus the implications it has on the future of education. Her keynote will also showcase a wide range of technological advancements that will evolve educational processes and credentialing in the next decade. Sharing emerging technologies with educational leaders will give them the insight to prepare their districts to implement transformative learning enabled by technology. As an internationally recognized authority on blockchain technology and emerging digital technologies, De Filippi focuses on how blockchain technology can help achieve greater transparency and accountability for academic credentials, as well as increased interoperability among a variety of institutional credentials. In the long term, this could allow for more granular curricula, where people could aggregate multiple credentials into a wide range of ad-hoc diplomas, as opposed to a specific set of predefined diplomas delivered by a few recognized institutions.
