Gardening Helps With Depression

Nov. 3, 2021 - PRLog -- Gardening is arguably one of the common ways of interacting with nature and indeed is enjoyed as a popular pastime in many countries. In the UK, there are estimated to be 27 million people, approximately 40% of the total population, who actively participate in gardening (Bisgrove and Hadley, 2002).  Gardening requires, at most, a relatively small piece of land, and in many parts of the world, such gardens are today common. In the UK, it is estimated that 22.7 million households (87%) have access to a domestic garden, which comprise 432,924 ha of land in total (Davies et al., 2009).

The Organic Street has free guides to help the community and we encourage sharing to reap the most benefit. As demonstrated: Gardening provides a connection not just to other people but to our world. Having a garden, allotment, or farm really means having a relationship with the plot of ground you're tending. A gardener becomes much more aware of the elements: the first and last frosts of the season, how much rain we've had, the temperature, where sunlight falls throughout the day. If you would like to contribute please do share our free guides, news, and resources with your community. Read more: https://theorganicstreet.com/gardening-helps-with-depress...
