The Fall of Autumn

As autumn falls upon the hill

The world shall stop and stare

As leaves turn brown and tumble down

Leaving twisted branches bare

The air grows chill though winds are still

As the sun bleeds into the dawn

The ground a blaze with a colourful haze

A mist hanging over the morn

As acorns fall and mushrooms rise

The dormouse settles down

Feathers fly to warmer tides

The dark draws in around

The days once long seem all but gone

As autumn sings its song

But this is life; from day comes night

Let us all just dance along
