KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Oct. 17, 2021 - PRLog -- The Nalu mIPG, the smallest and longest lasting neurostimulator for treating chronic pain, was favored by the judges for its clear value and clinical utility.  Using advanced miniaturization technology and by eliminating the internal chemical battery, the Nalu mIPG is 27 times smaller than the largest commercially available implantable pulse generators (IPG).  [LL1] Its innovative design no longer requires patients receiving neurostimulation treatment to have an implanted battery and the small size translates into a less invasive procedure with the potential to reduce post-implant complications such as chronic pain at the implant site, scaring, and infections associated with larger incisions to accommodate traditional sized IPGs.

Used for spinal cord stimulation and peripheral nerve stimulation, the Nalu mIPG is uniquely powered wirelessly by an external Therapy Disk containing a battery and systems to control treatment through a smartphone-based app.  Although micro-sized, the mIPG delivers stimulation outputs equal to larger IPGs but with additional capabilities around advanced waveforms, programming modes and upgradability.
