Follow on Google News | Saint Louis Story Stitchers Artists Collective Offers Innovative Youth OpportunitiesBy: Saint Louis Story Stitchers XX EVENT: Story Stitchers Youth Council Enrollment Open Story Stitchers welcomes 16-24-year-old youth living in the Saint Louis region to programs centered around creative youth development in music, media and performing arts, and visual art including photography and videography. Youth who want to take full advantage of the programs offered join Story Stitchers Youth Council. The Council created leadership opportunities for engaged youth that incorporate safe spaces to gather, culturally relevant mentors, opportunities to strengthen artistic, technical and soft job skills, powerful platforms from which to be heard, community partners, ownership over the program, a sense of extended family, stability and trust, friendships and opportunities to earn stipends for community service. About Saint Louis Story Stitchers Artists Collective Saint Louis Story Stitchers Artists Collective is a non-profit organization engaged in urban storytelling. The mission of Saint Louis Story Stitchers is to document St. Louis through art and word to promote understanding, civic pride, intergenerational relationships and literacy. Collective artists work alongside 16-24-year-old urban youth to collect stories, reframe and retell them using the arts to promote a better educated, more peaceful and caring society. Saint Louis Story Stitchers are a resident organization at Kranzberg Arts Foundation where members rehearse, present and perform in the Foundation's first-class spaces. The Collective also maintains the Stitchers Storefront Studio in the historic Loop District for recording, editing and publishing.
