ReTec strengthens its position and takes over local company
By: ReTec Miljø ApS
"It is a real pity for SAWO that it did not go as they hoped. Conversely, we are happy - the acquisition of Platz Karosserifabrik gives us the opportunity to offer even more customer-oriented solutions and at the same time strengthen our position in the market ", a satisfied Kjeld Jensen says, owner and CEO of ReTec Miljø ApS.
Platz Karosserifabrik, together with the trading company BP Trailer A/S, produces customized constructions for all types of trailers, semi-trailers and block wagons for the transport industry.
Hence ReTec, which is also a 100 % order-producing company, and which i.a. is known for its mobile security shredding units throughout Scandinavia and Northern Europe, sees a great synergy effect between building up its own mobile shredding units as well as BP Trailers and Platz Karosseri´s wide product range from the same address.
The planned expansion of the production facilities which ReTec also faced, could be postponed by taking over the activities in Platz Karosserifabrik and instead using Platz premises and employees on Ellehammersvej in Haderslev. ReTec´'s assembling department on Christian X´s Vej has therefore already moved the 300 meters to Platz´ premises, where "everyone has welcomed each other and is openminded and helpful", Kjeld Jensen continues.
The experienced staff stays
For Jens Erik Platz, who together with his brother Jørgen is behind BP Trailer, selling the constructions to the Danish transport industry, the takeover is a positive situation.
"It's a win-win situation for everyone," he says. "For BP Trailer and Platz Karosseri, it is crucial that the experienced staff is retained so that we can continue to offer our well-known, tailor-made products to the transport industry", he says.
Kjeld Jensen adds: "At ReTec, we are experiencing a great increase in the sale of our mobile security apeshredding units, and this is where the experienced employees at Platz Karosseri as well as the almost new production facilities are received as a lot of windfalls.
"We are all grateful that Jørgen Platz, who had actually retired, also returns for a period to help us get off to a good start," Kjeld Jensen concludes.
The transfer took place on 01.05.2021.
