"We learned a lot from being closed most of 2020," said Adam Woodworth, the Museum's Executive Director. "The one thing we learned is that people want to support the museum through donations and volunteering; A quick look at the museum's website and their "Help us Grow" page reveals that the museum already has multiple ways you can contribute. You can donate a vehicle, donate stock, put the museum in your will, name the museum as a partial beneficiary of your life insurance policy or just make a typical donation by cash, check or credit card. Now, you can donate some of that cryptocurrency you purchased to help support their mission. "We partnered with Engiven, a platform that helps nonprofits easily accept donations of cryptocurrency," When you donate, the cryptocurrency immediately goes through an exchange and the museum receives the cash equivalent of the value of that crypto at the time of the donation. The museum is not accepting cryptocurrency to purchase admissions or memberships, yet, but Woodworth says that he doesn't rule out that possibility in the future. "Cryptocurrency has been around awhile but it's new to a lot of people," said Woodworth. "I don't think any of us really know where it is heading. What we do know is that it is here, people are investing in it and there is a belief that this will take hold as a viable and well-recognized currency. We thought we should be part of it." The Children's Museum in Oak Lawn is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization. Visit https://www.cmoaklawn.org/ End
