Alten Construction wraps up San Rafael High School's MACK building project

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - June 14, 2021 - PRLog -- Alten Construction (http://www.altenconstruction.com/), a full-service San Francisco Bay Area commercial construction company, recently completed San Rafael High School's (http://www.sanrafael.srcs.org/) 43,000-square-foot Madrone-Admin-Cafeteria-Kitchen (MACK) building project.

The project included the construction of a new two-story administration building, central

kitchen, support spaces, student commons area and classrooms for Madrone High School (http://mhs.srcs.ca.schoolloop.com/cms/page_view?d=x&piid=&vpid=1217454652861), a continuation high school on the campus of San Rafael High School. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on May 13.

A dramatic glass curtain wall system at the entrance to the common area serves as a focal point for the project, with 30-foot ceilings, straight edges, modern-style architecture and a contemporary design.

Alten also built a new courtyard with amphitheater-style concrete seating and a shade structure and a new parking lot, which includes accessible parking spaces and electronic vehicle (EV) charging stations.

We hope the staff and students truly enjoy the updates and the entirely new commons area for an enhanced learning experience."

In December 2018, the commercial construction company began preconstruction activities on the estimated $29 million project, including site evaluation, surveys and set up, before breaking ground in March 2019.

The San Rafael High School District and San Rafael Elementary School District is part of San Rafael City Schools (https://srcs-ca.schoolloop.com/), with a total student population of more than 7,200.
