Follow on Google News | Pivoting For The Arts In BaltimoreBy: Fashion Umbrella Foundation The last runway production of Baltimore Fashion Week was August 11, 2019. On August 28, 2021, that will be 749 days since the previous runway production. Designers will have the opportunity to showcase their creative talents again this year on August 28, 2021. Having that time in the background and the pandemic collectively has created several discussions around whether to have the event virtual or in-person. Keeping safety always at the forefront of everything, one could see how this decision remained a viable topic. In line with the Governor of Maryland and working closely with the staff at the Delta Hotels Marriott, the decision is to host Baltimore Fashion Week in person. So, yes, we are welcoming guests again. This year's events include a brunch cruise, an in-person speaker luncheon, and an in-person runway show. Any additional events will be listed when scheduled. "For me, this has been the most prolonged production process ever, but my team is amazing by keeping the lines of communication open and sharing tips to ensure safety is our number 1 priority. Although I had the final deciding voice, it was not an easy decision to make, but my team and I learned how to pivot in the face of an adversary - the pandemic. Although the pivot continues, I feel we all have worked hard enough, and a celebration is long overdue. It's time to come together and celebrate on behalf of fashion and the creators of it while enjoying a great production." Baltimore Fashion Week's designer runway show will take place at the Delta Hotels Marriott – Baltimore Hunt Valley in Baltimore County. Hosting Baltimore Fashion Week at the Delta offers participants and guests free parking and is located within walking distance from the light rail. Event tickets will be available through the Baltimore Fashion Week website. To find out more information about this event and to subscribe to the newsletter, visit www.baltimore- End
