UTRECHT, Netherlands - May 19, 2021 - PRLog -- A new version of the DeskProto 3D CAM software has been released today by Delft Spline Systems. This Version 7.1 includes two important new features: it is now possible to make a simulation of the rotary toolpaths, and also to select a rectangular block of material for rotary toolpaths. Both new features have been requested by many users.

"DeskProto is widely appreciated for its complete support of fourth axis machining." says product manager Lex Lennings, "Especially the support for toolpaths below the rotation axis and the continuous helix toolpath are unique in lowcost CAM software. We are happy that we now can offer even more options for rotary machining."

The image shows the head of Venus de Milo (this STL file is a free download on the DeskProto website). Left a screenshot showing the geometry within a rectangular block (drawn in brown lines). The simulation gives a clear view of the result that can be expected. The result has been machined in wood (American maple) and has been treated with wood oil.
