Defensive Lineman, Shakore Philip signs with the Tucson Sugar Skulls

SELDEN, N.Y. - May 13, 2021 - PRLog -- Black Diamond PR & Sport Management Firm, one of the top 10 independently owned Sport Management Firms in the U.S., is pleased to announce the signing of their client, defensive lineman, Shakore Philip, to the Tucson Sugar Skulls. The Sugar Skulls are a Professional Arena Football team in the Indoor Football League (IFL).

Shakore Philip played his collegiate career at Widener University and has since played for various professional arena teams, including the San Diego Strike Force and the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks. This will be Shakore's second season with the Sugar Skulls and he is grateful for the opportunity to get back on the field with them for the upcoming season. .

"I'm really excited to play for the Sugar Skulls this season," says Philip. "I've done a lot of training throughout  quarantine and I am ready to finally get back to work! We have a great team and I'm grateful to be a part of it."

The Tucson Sugar Skulls played their inaugural season in 2019 where they made it to the playoffs but weren't able to get past the first round against the eventual champions, the Sioux Fall Storm. The Skulls were ready to advance into the playoffs in 2020 but their season was canceled due to COVID.  The Sugar Skulls have a solid team this year, especially with the addition of Philip.

The Tucson Sugar Skulls kick off their season on May 21st against the Green Bay Blizzard in Green Bay, WI.
