Whidbey Farm & Market opens for business on May 8 on Whidbey Island

SEATTLE - May 5, 2021 - PRLog -- Whidbey Farm & Market will open its doors outside Oak Harbor on Whidbey Island on May 8, 2021. The Market is the brainchild of Whidbey Island residents, Wendi Hilborn and Shannon Hamilton who operated a pumpkin patch and corn maze at the same location last fall.

Located at 1422 Monroe Landing Rd, Oak Harbor, WA 98277 (across from the Blue Fox Drive-In), Whidbey Farm and Market will be open from 11.00AM to 6.00PM Thursdays to Mondays between May and December each year. The Market will include an espresso bar serving JennyBean coffees and home baked goods and will offer a wide range of locally sourced products including their own pasture-raised beef and pork (https://www.whidbeyfarmandmarket.com/store) as well as produce, dairy items, personal care products, kitchen essentials, garden starts, gifts and flowers.

"It has been our dream to bring a market to Whidbey Island that showcases everything that our local producers and makers have to offer," said Shannon Hamilton.  "Our goal is also to create a destination for the community and visitors from Seattle and beyond." Hamilton says the Market will have a full schedule of family-friendly seasonal events on weekends including live music, food trucks, corn mazes and more.

"We are thrilled that so many local businesses, many of them owned by women, jumped at the opportunity to be part of the Market," said Wendi Hilborn. "Our roster of vendors will continue to grow as we add more products to the market," she said. Hilborn says ice cream from Lopez Island Creamery is sure to be a hit this summer.

When Whidbey Farm & Market opens on May 8, products from the following vendors will be available:  3 Generations (jams and syrups), Albert L Punkt (bamboo bowls and artisanal vinegars), Golden Glen Creamery, Jenny Bean Coffee,  Lopez Island Creamery, Love Wells Farm, Mustard and Co, One Willow Farm (chicken and eggs), Twinbrooks Farm (milk), Trilby's (BBQ sauces and rubs), Skagit Gardens (plant starts), San Juan Salt, and Whidbey Essentials (bath salts, face care).
