WAN CHAI, Hong Kong - April 23, 2021 - PRLog -- CRISPR is a revolutionary technology to modify or edit DNA. Dr. Samarth Kulkarni has served as Chief Executive Officer at crisper since 2017. Prior to joining Sam was a Partner at McKinsey & Company where he co-led the biotech practice, focusing on strategy and operations, and led initiatives in areas such as personalized medicine and immunotherapy.

We sat down with Dr. Kulkarni to get his perspective on the future of genomics and healthcare. We asked him, "What do you think the future of genomics looks like in the next coming years?"

CEO and Dr. Kulkarni said, "We will see genome sequencing becoming the standard of care in specialty settings and starting to become standard of care in the PCP setting.  And it will allow the data to be used multiple times throughout a person's life — otherwise known as a 'sequence.'"

He then added, "The data set can be used to assess a person's risk for certain types of cancer or heart disease and to know the conditions they might pass down to future generation. It will broadly save patient lives. By identifying people at risk for genetic conditions earlier, we can prevent or delay disease. We can also prevent adverse drug reactions."

Dr. Kulkarni said, "As far we sequenced more than 40K human genomes. Of the people that complete the Health Nucleus, one in 40 will discover they have a serious cancer they didn't know about. That is finding and fixing genetic problems before they even arise. This is the future or I should say present with Crisper."

With CRISPR, immune system will have a triple way to produce more protection for bacteria against viral attacks.
