Southern Ocean County Hometown Security Webinar talks Summer Season Safety for Businesses

SHIP BOTTOM, N.J. - April 22, 2021 - PRLog -- The New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness will partner with the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce for the fifth year to bring a business safety event to the region on June 9. The Hometown Security program is a collaborative effort to discuss information, tools, and resources that help strengthen the security and resilience of communities across New Jersey. Small businesses and other local community members engage with federal, state, and local partners to gain information and build preparedness capabilities.

With the continued presence of COVID-19 misinformation, this annual pre-summer event will discuss with business and community leaders the importance of security, safety, and reopening issues. The virtual Hometown Security Reopening Seminar will educate on COVID-19 issues and answer questions surrounding public health guidelines, enhancing awareness and protective measures to best prepare for an influx of summer visitors.

The live webinar will begin at 10 a.m., and there is no cost with advanced registration through the chamber. It will feature presentations from the New Jersey Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Cell, New Jersey State Police, US Department of Homeland Security, and Ocean County Prosecutor's Office. The speakers will discuss the latest on cyber and domestic threats, COVID-19 misinformation and disinformation campaigns, and a variety of preparedness resources.
