Snell & Wilmer Attorney David P. Nigro Honored with ASU Jurimetrics Law Journal Distinguished Alumni

PHOENIX - April 19, 2021 - PRLog -- Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Phoenix attorney David P. Nigro (https://www.swlaw.com/people/david_nigro) was presented with the Distinguished Alumni Award at the Arizona State University Jurimetrics Law Journal Banquet on Friday, April 16.

Jurimetrics was first published in 1959 under the leadership of Layman Allen as Modern Uses of Logic in Law (MULL). The current name was adopted in 1966. Jurimetrics is the oldest journal of law and science in the United States, and it has a circulation of more than 8,000, which includes all members of the ABA Section of Science & Technology Law.

Nigro serves as President for the Foundation for Blind Children and the Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and the Blind. In 2019, Nigro was awarded the Phoenix Business Journal's Health Care Hero Philanthropic Champion award for acting as a sighted guide for the Blind Buccaneers, a group of blind and visually impaired students from the FBC who sailed around the Spanish Virgin Islands. Also a member of the National Organization for Albinism and Hypopigmentation, Nigro organizes fundraising activities and helps award scholarships to college students who have albinism

At Snell & Wilmer, Nigro's practice is concentrated in intellectual property law. He has experience advising clients in patent and trademark prosecutions, patent and trademark litigation, and transactions involving intellectual property. He also has experience in a variety of industries and technologies including chemical processes and compositions, consumer and pet food production/packaging, composite materials, seed and plant biotechnology, renewable/sustainable technologies, ceramics, aerospace systems, electrical power generation and control, jet engines, nacelles, financial services and information technologies. Prior to attending law school, Nigro worked as an application developer in the information technology field. As an undergraduate, he worked as a synthetic organic chemist.
