Follow on Google News | April Exhibit at the Geary Gallery in Darien, CT: Caroline O'Callaghan: Observations in AbstractBy: Geary Gallery Abstract painter Caroline O'Callaghan, has always had a passion for the world of art and design. After studying colors and painting at the New York School of Interior Design (NYSID), she started her career at House Beautiful magazine. She further expanded her design education through her experience working at a boutique interior design firm on Madison Avenue in New York City. The combination of her interior design work and fine art education greatly influenced O'Callaghan's painting style. She is passionate about spatial design; it resonates with her and permeates her painting style. "Working in both interior and architectural design has exposed me to a form of spatial design that resonates with me and influences my work," says O'Callaghan. O'Callaghan paints with high-end acrylics and acrylic color washes on heavyweight cotton duck cloth, primed with acid-free titanium acrylic gesso. Her canvases are professionally stretched on 1.5″ kiln-dried wood frames with stretcher bars for extra support. Most of her designs can be transferred to acrylic-primed canvas sheets, as well as 140-pound cold press durable cotton paper for framing. Caroline O'Callaghan's paintings can be found in galleries and design shops throughout New York and Connecticut. Her exhibit at the Geary Gallery runs April 1 – 30 and her paintings are available for acquisition. All are welcome and admission is free.
