Follow on Google News | Students Take Break from Study to Serve CommunityEach year, the students and staff of Fort Worth Christian School's Upper School dedicate a week to service. With travel trips canceled due to COVID-19, all 266 students and over 30 staff members are serving all over the DFW area.
By: Fort Worth Christian School Freshman through Seniors, serving alongside their teachers, are fanning out around DFW, serving for several hours each day at organizations like Mission Arlington, 6 Stones in Euless, the Community Enrichment Center in North Richland Hills, Christ's Haven for Children in Keller, GRACE in Grapevine, Hope Farm in Fort Worth, Just Because in Farmers Branch, Southlake Church of Christ in Fort Worth, Tarrant Area Food Bank, Brother Bill's Helping Hand in Dallas, and Project Home and The Welman Project, also in Fort Worth. Some worship team students, besides helping with Community Table in North Richland Hills, are singing in various nursing homes. In addition, students and staff, partnering with Kids Around the World, will be participating in a food packing event on campus on Monday and Tuesday. On Thursday and Friday of Service Week, CitySquare of Dallas will be hosting a poverty simulation activity. The vision of Fort Worth Christian School is to empower students for a lifetime of faith, service, and leadership for Christ. Service Week is a signature program of our Upper School focusing on service as a co-curricular effort of our school.
