Spruill Pivots to Live Broadcast; Virtual Format for Annual Artistic Affair Fundraiser

DUNWOODY, Ga. - March 1, 2021 - PRLog -- Spruill Center for the Arts announces plans for a live, interactive, and virtual fundraiser, Artistic Affair, taking place on March 20, 2021 beginning at 7pm. This year's event is presented by Regency Centers.

"When we realized we wouldn't be able to host an in-person event again this year, we knew we'd have to get creative to make the event fun and exciting for our supporters," said Spruill Center for the Arts CEO, Alan Mothner. "So, we decided on a live broadcast format, working with EEP Events to help us put the show together. Our supporters can select from hand curated menus from a great group of Dunwoody restaurants to put together a special meal at home while they join us for the event. And there's going to be lots to see and do that evening from creating custom cocktails to a live painting by Spruill instructor Lauren Adams that we'll auction off at the end of the night. We'll also feature live music from up and coming Athens band Common Currents, live raffle drawings, and the presentation of our annual Bob Kinsey Award. There's truly a way for the whole community to participate."

In addition to restaurant partnerships, Spruill's event will include a silent auction featuring original works of art. The auction will be open to the public a week in advance of the event. Raffle tickets are now available for purchase and include a $1,000 shopping spree to Lauderhills Fine Jewelry, hand-selected wine baskets from Vino Venue, and a chance to win a free class for two at Spruill.

For the past 35 years, the Spruill Arts Guild has hosted Artistic Affair, raising more than $1 million for Spruill in support of the Arts and artists, from youth and beginners to the most seasoned professionals. Last year, despite the pandemic, Spruill was able to shift to hosting their first ever virtual event and through the generous contributions of their supporters, raised over $40,000. The money raised allowed Spruill to financially support their beloved family of instructors, purchase supplies and equipment needed to safely reopen and fund public art initiatives that took place later in the year.

The much-needed proceeds from Artistic Affair go toward supporting the programs and community outreach of Spruill. In previous years, Artistic Affair has raised money towards youth scholarships, improvements in Spruill's artistic departments and in support of partnerships with other community-based nonprofits.

The event is free; however, patrons will need to register online to participate in the silent auction by visiting https://spruillarts.cbo.io
