Adelphi Orchestra presents "Music for a Sunday Afternoon"
"Music for a Sunday Afternoon" will feature members of the Adelphi Orchestra Chamber Ensemble Laura Hamilton violin, Sylvia Rubin violin, Fransesca Silos, viola and Lanny Paykin, cello who will perform Mozart's perennial favorite, the Quartet for Strings no 17 in B flat major, K 458 known as the "Hunt" and Dvorak's beloved Quartet for Strings no 12 in F major, Op. 96/B 179 – also known as the "American."
For the past 15 years, the Adelphi Orchestra Chamber Ensemble has performed chamber works in many concert venues throughout New Jersey and New York.
ABOUT THE ADELPHI ORCHESTRA
The Adelphi Orchestra, despite the pandemic, celebrates it's 67th Season of "Music for All" and remains Northern New Jersey's longest, continuously performing orchestra. The Adelphi Orchestra presents concerts featuring beloved classical works of symphonic, chamber, operatic, and dance music performed by accomplished national and international guest soloists and distinguished conductors. The Orchestra is currently under the direction of Maestro Richard Owen. For the past 17 years, the Adelphi Orchestra has sponsored a Young Artist Competition and presented Young Artist Concerts throughout New Jersey and the New York metropolitan area. The Adelphi Orchestra has been honored by the New Jersey State Legislature for the orchestra's ongoing commitment to Northern New Jersey audiences and by our peers, earning their nomination for 6 consecutive years for Jersey Arts People's Choice Award in the Favorite Orchestra/Symphony Division.
