Valutivity LLC Launches Tryptasemia.com

Company near Richmond, VA, launches website to propel recognition of a relatively new condition, Hereditary Alpha Tryptasemia Syndrome.

MECHANICSVILLE, Va. - Jan. 24, 2021 - PRLog -- Richmond, VA – 1-2% of Caucasians have a new disorder published fewer than five (5) years ago, called Hereditary Alpha Tryptasemia Syndrome, or HαTS. It hardly meets the qualifications of rare, yet very few doctors—not to mention their patients—are familiar with the disorder. That unfamiliarity comes with a cost: decades of insufficient
diagnoses, useless—or worse, damaging—medications, and negative psychological impacts.

A local company, Valutivity LLC, in Mechanicsville, Virginia, is working to close that knowledge gap. In 2018, its owner, Karen Smith-Will, discovered she and several family members have HαTS. Groundbreaking doctors leading them on this journey include electrophysiologist Dr. Daniel Schneider, of Virginia Cardiovascular Specialists; Drs. Lawrence "Larry" Schwartz and Anne-Marie Irani at Virginia Commonwealth University; Dr. Jonathan Lyons of the National Institutes of Health (NIH); and Dr. Sarah Glover at the University of Mississippi.

One year ago, at the end of January 2020, Valutivity LLC rolled out Tryptasemia.com (http://www.Tryptasemia.com and .org), to coincide with Rare Day events in DC and at the NIH, in Bethesda, Maryland.

HαTS has the dubious distinction of running the gambit of exceedingly common and presumed-benign symptoms, such as headache, abdominal pain, fibromyalgia, and fainting. Yet it is often paired with rarer and riskier symptoms like anaphylaxis, cardiac block, hypermobility and vibratory urticaria. A genetic tweak on chromosome 16 results in a person having multiple copies of TPSAB1. Functionally, this results in higher amounts of a protein called tryptase in one's white blood cells. HαTS is multi-systemic; it only causes problems where blood goes…and that's everywhere.

Valutivity LLC has participated in advocacy efforts since 2017, conferences since 2019, and educational/sociological efforts since 2020. In its first year, articles on Tryptasemia.com have received about 10,000 hits. Its goal for the next 5 years is to exceed one (1) million hits, eventually helping "Hereditary Alpha Tryptasemia Syndrome" to become a household name.
