Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani Is The Real Winner In The Appeal By The Ventriglias To Supreme Court

LUSUKA, Zambia - Jan. 6, 2021 - PRLog -- Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is a noted businessman in Zambia. As such, the decision made by the Lusaka High Court after dragging the Portland Cement Zambia case for more than a decade was controversial to say the least.

On the other hand, the decision from the higher Court of Appeal was straightforward. Justice Mwinde on behalf of the higher Court of Appeal reversed the decision of the Lusaka High Court and announced Dr. Rajan Mahtani owned Finsbury Investments as the majority shareholder and legal owner of the factory. This decision was given on 31st January 2019 and after more than a year of this decision, the Ventriglias made a similar appeal challenging the decision of Court of Appeal on Portland Cement case at the Supreme Court Zambia. However, a bench of judges at the Supreme Court effectively rejected this appeal due to legal precedent and confirmed that the Portland Cement factory legally belongs to Dr. Mahtani only.
