Earlier this year, when the Canadian Football League canceled their season due to Covid-19, LaShaun was devastated. However, he soon realized that this was a blessing in disguise. He worked even harder to achieve the physical goals he has set for himself. After countless hours of lifting, running and position training, the Warbirds decided to give him the shot he had been waiting for.
After playing football for Capital University in Bexley, OH, he knew he did not want his football career to end. With his talent, determination and versatility, he was a hot commodity for many of the professional leagues. Sanders is a 6'1" cornerback with multiple secondary playing positions that include wide receiver, running back, free safety and more. Sanders is a player who could out-hustle anyone on the field but also would tell his fellow players how talented they are afterward. Not only does this young man have talent, but he also has a heart of gold and exudes a contagious positive outlook on life. All of these attributes have helped him to reap the rewards of today.
"I appreciate the Warbirds for allowing me to continue to showcase my abilities and further my career," said Sanders. "I look forward to getting back on the field and creating something special with my new family in Odessa, Texas."
LaShaun Sanders is keenly aware that not many people will get the opportunity he has been blessed with. He will continue to work just as hard as he did before he signed his contract. This young professional is very thankful to continue to do what he loves, along with the support of his friends and family. Sanders is eager to pack up his things and move to Texas to help lead his team to victory for the 2021 season.
