By: Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida "The new location is a perfect fit for us," said Goodwill Industries of SWFL CEO and President John Nadeau. "We are excited to be able to bring a brand new store and expanded services to the Clewiston community." The new location will house 7,600 square foot of retail space and will co-locate with Goodwill's mission services. The huge on-site CRC is designed to provide services to help the Clewiston community over-come barriers, find employment and upskill. Since the pandemic began, the demand for COVID-related assistance has been a major focus for Goodwill's CRC coordinators. Across Southwest Florida, Goodwill has been assisting with unemployment, SNAP, LIHEAP, and CARES applications. Additionally, Goodwill's employment services and digital skills training has been in high demand to help those who have been laid-off due to the pandemic. Goodwill CRC coordinators also assist with connecting people to other resources in the community that will strengthen and support families in need. Goodwill SWFL will continue to house multiple community partners in the new CRC space to ensure the effectiveness of services and to overcome barriers to program access. "Last year, we served 1,139 individuals and their families in the Clewiston community providing a variety of services to overcome barriers to self-sufficiency," Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida is a nonprofit organization committed to serving people with disabilities and disadvantages by providing life-changing opportunities toward independence. They are grateful to be able to continue offering services to the Clewiston community. For more information about Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, visit www.goodwillswfl.org. End
