Noteworthy Sheet Music Welcomes Composer Tom Schnauber
An NSM edition of Tom Schnauber's piece "Those Infernal Exsanguinators" for flute and piano has just been published.
German-American composer Tom Schnauber is Co-Founder of the Boston-based arts organization WordSong, and a former co-president of Composers in Red Sneakers, Boston. He holds a Ph.D. in composition and theory from the University of Michigan, has studied French horn performance and ethnomusicology, and has taught music at St. Olaf College, Indiana University, Emmanuel College, and New England Conservatory's prep school. He has won several awards for composition, including both the grand prize and the music director's prize from the Chamber Orchestra Kremlin's 2006 International "Homage to Mozart" competition;
Mr. Schnauber is the latest contemporary composer to contribute works to NSM's ever-expanding catalog. An NSM edition of his piece for flute and piano titled Those Infernal Exsanguinators has just been published. It's a very effective, fun, challenging (but far from impossible), and entertaining composition.
