PRLog -- Anna D. Banks, an Executive Director with the John Maxwell Team, CEO of Thrive Leadership Institute, Inc. and life coach is hosting a special event on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. to help students understand the stress response, and how to fight against it. This event is hosted in support of the October 2020, JMT Global Youth Initiative.
During this event, Anna Banks will discuss the body's fight-or-flight response concerning stress as well as techniques for preventing stressful situations and various methods for managing and coping with unavoidable stress and academic burnout, especially during this unprecedented year of COVID in 2020.
"There are times when stress can be a great motivator, but too much of a good thing can have negative consequences. When the body is in a constant state of hormonal fight-or-flight, other important functions can suffer. If gone unchecked, the risk of developing stress disorders such as anxiety or depression increases, as does the likelihood of burnout," says Anna Banks. "My goal for the presentation is to help students and parents understand how the body responds to stress as well as the mental, physical, and emotional effects that stress can cause. By understanding how stress mechanisms are triggered, we have more control and can begin learning how to consciously turn them off."
