-- John William is a local pro football player from Spring, Texas and a recent graduate of the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. Though Covid-19 has been a prevalent force in denying many professional sport careers to move forward, John stayed dedicated to the process of training through the pandemic and recently landed a pro contract with Sioux Falls City Storm in South Dakota.
Williams will report his new football home in the spring of 2021, but in the meatine, he has been active in his community and revving up his charitable givebacks locally. John is a firm believer in giving back to his community and one of his favorite community organizations are animal rescue shelters. He is a huge advocate of our four-legged orphans and has been volunteering with the Friends for Life Animal Rescue over the summer. He is also the proud puppy papa of two furry rescues himself-, a lovely little Yorkie named Bella, and Rocky, a rowdy Heinz 57 pup.
"As a pet owner myself, I am incredibly grateful for organizations like Friends For Life that take such good care of the furry homeless members of our community, " John stated. "The organization also assists pet owners who are struggling to care for their pets during hard times. I am truly proud to assist this organization in their efforts to further their programs," says Williams.
Friends For Life provides extra care, support and adoption opportunities for the numerous homeless dogs and cats in our community. The organization can assist local families who are struggling to care for their pets during this economic crisis. This support takes money and many volunteers like John. The need for financial support through fundraisers is a constant challenge during these troubled times. Friends For Life hosted an online version of their annual gala silent auction to accompany the regularly scheduled clinic this past Friday, October 9th. John eagerly participated as a volunteer and spokesperson for their event. The generous donations will go a long way to fund the much needed FFL programs.
