By: Rodger Delany In "She's So Lonely," Mother Redcap combines powerful rock music with poignant lyrics to capture the emotional helplessness in "saving" somebody from the complexities of loneliness and depression. "…Sometimes I think I can save her Sometimes I know she needs my help But pity the fool who plays the savior When I can't even save myself…" Written by Steve Oakley, "She's So Lonely" was recorded by Mother Redcap in the summer of 1991 in Maple Shade, New Jersey by Keith Thompson. The session was a rehearsal of sorts for both Mother Redcap and Keith Thompson who had just built his first studio. The recording of "She So Lonely" was not intended for release. The tape was stored in an unmarked box where it remained for decades while it and the band members moved-on through life. When the recording was discovered, there was limited damage due to age or challenging climatic conditions. The analog tracks were recovered from the original tape and transferred to digital files by Jeff Mount at Sessionworks Studios in Hurst, Texas. The digital tracks were sent to Rich King in Philadelphia for editing and mixing. The SoundLab at Disc Makers in Pennsauken, New Jersey mastered "She's So Lonely" for release. Musicians on "She's So Lonely" are Steve Oakley (lead vocals, lead guitar, acoustic guitar), Rodger Delany (vocals, electric guitar), Chris Ritchie (bass guitar) Mike Lockwood (drums, vocals). Photography is by David Melendez. Album design is by Megan Delany. Formed in the southern shadow of Philadelphia, Mother Redcap is a rock and roll band from Maple Shade, New Jersey who is "unapologetically New Jersey" drawing on influences such as Springsteen, Neil Young, Rush, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Steve Earle and the Replacements. Mother Redcap released four records – "Rough Mix" (1986), "Throwing Stones" (1988), "Up to Now…" (2000), and "All This Nothing" (2009). In 2012, Rodger Delany released "Moment of Truth" and in 2015, Steve Oakley released "Bloom Late." Late in 2017, Mother Redcap released the single, "Homeless Christmas." On Earth Day 2018, Mother Redcap released the single "Dirty Water." For more information on Mother Redcap, go to www.motherredcap.com End
