MAPLE SHADE, N.J. - May 12, 2023 - PRLog -- Mother Redcap will release "Hurricane Beach," their first new music in nearly fifteen years, to popular streaming services on Thursday, June 1st.

In1985, five young musicians hailing from Maple Shade, New Jersey formed a band and released two records – the single "In the Dark" b/w "Graduation Day" and the EP "Throwing Stones."  Nearly forty years later, the original members reunited to record a new single entitled "Hurricane Beach."

The recording process for "Hurricane Beach" started just before the COVID lock-downs and was completed in April of 2023.  Leveraging technology that was unimaginable in 1985, tracks were recorded remotely with the vocals, drums, guitars recorded at Wolfert Station Studios in Southern New Jersey while the bass and additional guitars were recorded in a home studio on Flower Mound, Texas. The tracks were consolidated, mixed and mastered in Southern New Jersey.

"Hurricane Beach" represents the first new music by Mother Redcap since the release of "All this Nothing" in 2009.  The new recording features Steve Oakley (vocals, guitar), Ted Karapalides (guitar, mixing),  Rodger Delany (guitar), Chris Ritchie (bass) Don DiPaolo (drums).  Songwriting and production are credited to Mother Redcap.  Megan Delany created the album concept and designed the artwork.  "Hurricane Beach" is published by American Highway Music, LLC.

Formed in the southern shadow of Philadelphia, Mother Redcap is a rock and roll band from Maple Shade, New Jersey who is "unapologetically New Jersey" drawing on influences such as Springsteen, Neil Young, Rush, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Steve Earle and the Replacements.  Mother Redcap released four records – "Rough Mix" (1986), "Throwing Stones" (1988), "Up to Now…" (2000), and "All This Nothing" (2009).  Between 2017 and 2020, Mother Redcap released previously recorded but unreleased songs - "Homeless Christmas," "Dirty Water" and "She's So Lonely."
