WASHINGTON - Aug. 14, 2020 - PRLog -- As the nation enters the final months of the 2020 presidential election campaign, a major new initiative, "Stand in Soulidarity" has launched, designed to educate and empower Black voters to register to vote and go to vote.

The initiative, organized by nationally syndicated radio show and digital platform, The Café Mocha Show, creates an alliance between nationally syndicated radio shows and several national grassroots voter empowerment and education nonprofits. The effort comes amid widespread concern among voting activists, civil rights leaders and election officials about voter suppression during this year's election cycle.

Café Mocha's "Stand in Soulidarity" initiative is collaborating with When We All Vote and Black Voters Matter to partner with other nationally syndicated radio shows to ensure that voters get out to the polls, particularly in battleground states.

"As 2020 continues to challenge our 'faith', whether it be COVID-19 or the unprecedented global protests denouncing police brutality and systemic racism, now more than ever it's time for us as broadcasters to come together," says Sheila Eldridge, CEO of Miles Ahead Broadcasting and creator/executive producer of Café Mocha Network. "With the theme this year for our Salute THEM: Awards being 'Stand in Soulidarity,' we are inviting our fellow nationally syndicated radio programs to join us and create one 'voice' to assure our community has the 'facts' necessary to exercise their rights to vote."

Syndicated radio shows that are interested in joining this alliance can contact Sheila Eldridge at Sheila@MilesAheadEntertainment.com / 201-887-5100 or Alex Hill at Alex@MilesAheadEntertainment.com / 313-655-0111.

When We All Vote and Black Voters Matter are providing toolkits to the alliance partners, including critical updates on key voting-related deadlines via public service announcements, text and graphics to post on social media. PSAs from the former First Lady, Michelle Obama, also will be made available in addition to a voter registration portal.

There will be a series of activities over the next three months including during the week of Aug. 17, it's Women's Week of Action / 100th Anniversary of 19th Amendment. When We All Vote will activate a national "call to action" campaign, leading up to a virtual activation where we when volunteers will be trained and texts will be sent to eligible voters across the country. The week of September 20 is Voter Registration Week of Action and there will host a national week of action where we'll host a mix of events including food + voter registration drives. We will also have virtual activations for partners.

The 'Stand in Soulidarity' initiative is part of Café Mocha's 10th anniversary where it is expanding its 'Salute Her (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Pk5xBWx9J0)' Awards by going virtual and producing the first ever 'Salute THEM' [Together Heroes Emerge Momentous] Awards honoring an array of change agents in the community. The first virtual Salute THEM: Awards is taking place during the upcoming virtual Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Annual Legislative Conference, will be streamed via Café Mocha's social channels starting at 7 p.m. EST September 12, 2020. This year's confirmed honorees include: Congresswoman Maxine Waters, The Clark Sisters, Lamman Rucker, Marla Gibbs and others.
