LOS ANGELES - July 10, 2020 - PRLog -- Seniors in North Carolina turning 65 need to carefully shop for Medicare insurance.  That's advice shared by the American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance (AAMSI).  The organization just released Medigap rates for Charlotte, Raleigh and Greensboro, North Carolina.

"In North Carolina one Medicare insurance company charges $82 while another charges $207 for the same level of Medigap plan," shares Jesse Slome, director of the Association.  "In North Carolina cities not only do rates vary but added fees vary and available discounts can vary.  We found household discounts that run from a low of five percent to as high as 14 percent."

The Association's 2020 survey reports the lowest and highest Medicare Supplement insurance rates for Plan G.  "Plan G is the most popular choice among seniors turning 65," Slome explains.  Before signing on the dotted line we urge consumers to compare their options.  You could be making a decision that you cannot easily change down the road."

"The various insurance companies set their pricing for North Carolina applicants," Slome notes.  "Medicare insurance can be complicated especially when you are turning 65 and new to Medicare.  That's why we advocate for working with a knowledgeable local Medicare insurance advisor or agent."
