He adds that research which benefits the need of society pertinent immediate requirements and local problems are to be reckoned with applauds. Manipal University Jaipur has concluded several significant research projects with societal connects. The work not only involves faculty members but also the students and scholars at under graduate, post graduate and PhD levels. Few of such projects are listed below. Multi-functional Jaipur-Hand: Artificial Bones: MUJ faculty members of Department of Mechanical Engineering have created bio-compatible Artificial Bones that can replace the human bones which may be lost due to severe fractures, diseases etc. This will remove the need of surgery to remove metallic implants. Unbreakable and Fireproof Tiles: Rajasthan is reeling under pressure of piled up dust of marble slurry, taking the shape of an environment threat, Researchers at Manipal University Jaipur, utilized the marble slurry to develop unbreakable and fireproof floor tiles. The cost is almost equal to normal ceramic tiles and their unbreakable and fireproof nature makes them superior. Protective Face Shields: Manipal University Jaipur jointly with Piltover Technologies Pvt. Ltd., developed an industry class face shield and donated 500 such shields to Rajasthan police. Recently, BTech- CCE student of MUJ and his team (LUXETICS) won the Hacking Medicine HealthHack 2020 Challenge for COVID-19 in Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. They developed a Near Infrared Spectrum based product to deal with COVID-19 and won $2500. They have been invited at MIT Hong Kong Nod for presentation after the lockdown. Atal Incubation Centre (AIC): With the aim to promote culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, AIC-MUJ was setup in association with Atal incubation Mission, NITI Aayog, Govt. of India.Till date AIC-MUJ has incubated around 15 startups, many of which have received private and public funding.
