Santana Equipment Announces Business Changes and COVID-19 Response

PHOENIX - May 7, 2020 - PRLog -- While material handling businesses are considered essential and could remain open it was clear that they would have to operate in a new format. The first change was to have the salespeople from all divisions work from home. "We wanted to be sensitive to the situation, and safety, but it was paramount that we keep our businesses going," said Eric Davidson when asked about business operations.

This was not without challenges, the largest being that the warehouse staff in the North Chicago location did not abide by CDC or the Illinois Governor's recommendations. They were attending large gatherings and had no intention of taking the situation seriously. The Phoenix location faced challenges on a different front. While they did post social distancing signs, and sanitize regularly, trying to get supplies was proving incredibly difficult. The Phoenix branch manager Alex Stuckey commented, "We spent over $500 for cleaning and sanitizing supplies which would normally cost around $200. The company also promised us certain products and quality but delivered the opposite."

Santana Equipment faced these challenges and continued to work towards a successful return to business. They reopened the Illinois Headquarters on April 20^th with a two-shift system to help maintain distancing and lower occupancy. The Phoenix location has regular cleanings and a strong focus on following CDC protocols. Eric Davidson's final comment was, "As owners and leaders in this company Nate Service, Alex Stuckey, and I have all learned firsthand the challenges of keeping a business running during a pandemic. However, through those challenges there is new growth and experience that will benefit us in the long run."
