SAN MARCOS, Calif.
- April 1, 2020
-- It is a tremendous honor, for the players and the program, to be selected in their first year of eligibility in the NAIA and the Cal Pac.
Despite a shortened season, Orzech was just two kills from matching his 2019 total with 182 kills on the year, and was well on his way to cracking 200 for the first time in his young career. He paced the team in kills per set (3.43) and service aces (15), as well as averaging 3.92 PTS/S. Orzech was also second on the team in digs with 77, trailing only defensive specialist, Joey Uhl (121).
Jackson had a standout season as well in his final year of competition. For the second straight season, he finished second on the team in kills behind Orzech, notching 146 on the year for an average of 2.61 K/S and 3.04 PTS/S. But where Jackson really left his mark, on the program and the league, was on defense, recording 38 total blocks for the year, averaging .68 per set. He finishes his career as the programs leading blocker, with 78 blocks officially recorded over the last two seasons.
Congratulations to Michael, Troy, and to USK men's volleyball on their fantastic achievement!
