Carbon fiber bridge sleeves deliver lightweight efficiency
By: MECA Solutions
Flexographic printers looking to build larger repeats have a lightweight, cost-effective option in bridge sleeves from MECA Solutions. Bridge sleeves, also known as bridge carriers or adapter sleeves, provide a number of benefits compared to the time and expense it takes to change entire print mandrels.
Bridge sleeves are designed to bridge the gap between the original mandrel and the next size sleeve. The print sleeve then slides on top of the bridge sleeve to create the desired printing repeat. The use of bridge sleeves gives printers the ability to use a much thinner, lighter, and less expensive print sleeve.
MECA is an industry leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance bridge sleeves. We specialize in carbon fiber construction, and our anilox rolls typically are designed to deliver protective coatings, laminations and adhesives.
Carbon fiber bridge sleeves hold tolerances at high speeds

Carbon fiber bridge sleeves provide an attractive return on investment in part through their ability to run at high speeds. Printers can have confidence in the ability to hold tight tolerance levels, thereby creating more impressions with greater profit per minute of operation.
Some of our customers desire a somewhat more cost-effective option, and in these cases we offer a bridge sleeve that does not include carbon fiber windings embedded in the sleeve. These more disposable sleeves are close to the same quality as our premium bridge sleeves, including performance characteristics that are virtually their equal.
