Amid Coronavirus news, SF NCBW plans to hold its annual fundraiser given assurances of proper CDC health protocol from the historic Fairmont Hotel.

With news of the global effort to stop the spread of the Coronavirus, the San Francisco Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. (NCBW), to ensure that proper health protocols from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will be followed, contacted the historic Fairmont Hotel. It is where the "Fifteenth Annual Golden Girls 'Bridging the Generations' Hats and Gloves Tea will be held March 14, 2020.   Fairmont Hotel leadership has confirmed that it will be following the advise of the CDC in light of the Coronavirus.

"We were pleased to receive assurances from the Fairmont Hotel where the event has been held annually since its inception in 2005," said Dr. Maxine Hickman, President of San Francisco NCBW and National Board Member of NCBW.  "We are also asking our members and tea guests to be aware of steps they should take as well."  Precautions include to:

· Stay home if sick
· Avoid close contact with people who are sick
· Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
· Cover coughs or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash
· Clean and disinfect touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe
· Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
· If soap and water are unavailable, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.  SFNCBW will provide hand sanitizer for each table.

Award winning-Bay Area Journalist Pam Moore of KRON-TV, will emcee the Golden Girls Tea with Contra Costa County District Attorney Diana Becton as the keynote speaker.

2020 Honorees Include: iCan Foundation Executive Director, Alpha Buie (Advocacy Award); Young Musicians Choral Orchestra Founder, Daisy Newman (Golden Girl & Arts Awards); Five Point Vice President, La Shon Walker (Community Service Award); Development Director UNCF, Monica Sudduth (Education Award); Wise Health Owner, Brittney Doyle (Entrepreneur Award); Kaiser Permanente Internal Medicine Physician, Dr. Gina Gregory-Burns (Health Award); UCSF Mount Zion Hospital Professor of Clinical Surgery, Dr. Cheryl Ewing (Trailblazer Award) and Wells Fargo Executive Vice President San Francisco Region, Wells Fargo, Ina Murray (Corporate Award).
