| The Lori Fund Donates $100K to the Special Operations Warrior FoundationBy: The Lori Fund "The weather did not cooperate at all during the golf tournament," Following the golf tournament, a silent auction and awards ceremony were held at the Hammock Beach Resort. During this event, Ret. two-star General Clayton Hutmacher, the President and CEO of the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, shared the value provided to veterans and their families by organizations like SOWF and The Lori Fund. Those sentiments were echoed by Breanna Walters, a SOWF family member. Breanna lost her Dad in 2003 in a helicopter tragedy in Afghanistan when she was nine years old. A total of five military personnel died in that crash. Breanna and her four sisters were all provided with a college education and support from SOWF. Frankie Petruno started The Lori Fund, a 501c3, after his wife, Lori Sullivan, passed away on April 11, 2019. To honor Lori's legacy, Frankie turned his personal tragedy into something that embodied her philanthropy by giving to others. "I am so touched by the overwhelming success of this event - I cannot thank everyone enough for their contributions, support and volunteerism," Next year's event is scheduled for February 27th, 2021.
