InsuranceHub Shows Some Love to Families in Need During the Holidays

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Dec. 3, 2019 - PRLog -- The season of giving is alive and well at Metro Atlanta-based insurance agency, InsuranceHub. Over the course of the past few weeks, its team members have been shopping for and collecting non-perishable food items to pack into boxes for delivery to the North Gwinnett Co-Operative Ministries. More popularly known as the North Gwinnett Co-Op, this faith-based organization provides food, clothing, utility and prescription medication assistance to families in need in the Buford, Suwanee and Sugar Hill areas. Included among them are senior citizens on fixed incomes, families with lost or reduced income, and families who recently lost their home. The largest demographic the Co-Op aids is children. Its hunger relief programs served 16,755 people in 2018. InsuranceHub was proud to be part of the solution in 2019.

"With the holidays upon us, many of us are worried about things like getting our holiday cards out on time or finding the perfect gifts for the ones we love," said Jim Lloyd, founder and CEO of InsuranceHub. "The sad truth is that there are thousands of families in our area who have much larger concerns – and not just during the holiday season but all year-long. They're unsure that they'll have enough money to keep their family in a home, with plenty of food to keep them healthy and the appropriate clothes to keep them warm. Food insecurity is a very real issue – and not just in the cities, but also in the suburbs of Gwinnett County. I was so proud of how our team came together and filled boxes to overflowing with food. We hope that we made a real difference for families in need this holiday season, and we plan to make this an annual tradition at our company for years to come."

By the end of the drive, InsuranceHub had collected over 1,000 pounds of non-perishable food items and packed them into 75 large boxes for delivery to the Co-Op. Included in the boxes were items like au gratin and mashed potato mixes, canned fruits and vegetables, stuffing mixes, cornbread mixes and canned soups – just to name a few.
