Nov. 18, 2019 - PRLog -- Everyone loves gazing at Christmas Lights this time of year. And for many families, the hanging of the lights is a cherished tradition. But hanging them can be frustrating and even dangerous if the right precautions aren't taken. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, there are thousands of injuries every year resulting from holiday decorating.

The Christmas Light Installation Experts at Christmas Lights by Go-Forth have provided some tips for staying safe when installing Christmas lights:

Always take the time to look for and read all safety warnings and installation instructions. Not only will this help prevent injury, but it will also educate on how many strands can be connected together. No one wants to get too far along in the decorating process to only have to start over!

Be sure to use ladders properly. Ensure both feet are on level ground and always have a spotter (second person on the ground) hold the bottom securely. Never use a ladder alone. Be sure that the ladder can hold both the person's weight and the weight of the decorations being carried.

If possible, use LED bulbs - they are much cooler than incandescent bulbs (and they use less energy - saving money as well!)

Fasten lights securely to avoid them being damaged by the wind or potentially falling on property below. They should not be dangling free for children to grab.

Avoid any roof work during snow, ice or rain.

Make sure to have the appropriate electrical supply needed for the project. A qualified electrician can assist.

Ben Keifer, manager of the Christmas Lights division at Go-Forth, says, "As a professional Christmas Lights installation company, our company has made large financial investments in safety equipment, ladders, lighting products and training courses to ensure the team has all the tools they need to do the best job, in the safest way. Individuals who hang lights should make this same investment in safety. The most beautiful light display in the world isn't worth a single injury."
