Kanan Shuttle to offer additional stops and changes to service effective September 30, 2019

The Kanan Shuttle, which serves the residents of Oak Park and Agoura Hills, is providing additional convenience to the riders by including additional stops at Roadside Dr. and Cornell Rd., serving the Whizins Center, and at Kanan Rd. and Canwood St., which provide more connections to Metro 161 and LADOT buses.
County Supervisor Linda Parks took the lead in working with community partners including Oak Park Unified School District, City of Agoura Hills and County Service Area No. 4, all of whom have shown their generous support by contributing funds so the service is and will remain free to the public for the fiscal year 2019-20.
"Eliminating over 80,000 individual car trips from Kanan Rd. annually not only goes a long way to help improve traffic congestion on Kanan Rd., but also provides environmental benefits to the community," explained Supervisor Linda Parks.
The shuttle currently provides stops to support both Medea Creek Middle School and Oak Park High School eliminating the need for parents to drive their children to and from school. It is also a convenient way for residents to get to area shopping centers without driving.
"We try our best to ensure the efficiency of travel to the public, and we are truly grateful for the organizations who make it possible for the Kanan Shuttle to continue to be offered as a free service," said David Fleisch, Director of VCPWA Transportation Department.
