Jacy Smith Honored with the 'Top 50 Tech Visionaries' Award at InterCon Conference 2019

LAS VEGAS - Sept. 4, 2019 - PRLog -- Jacy Smith was conferred with the 'Top 50 Tech Visionaries' award for her significant contributions towards the technology sector at InterCon, held at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas on June 18th-20th, 2019.

Jacy Smith is currently holding the position of Director of Business Development-Arizona for a technology company, iwerk. She was previously the co-founder of ReFresh IT, which was absorbed by iwerk in March 2019. Ms. Smith was one of the first two students to complete and graduate from Arizona State University's Science, Technology and Society program and received a Bachelor of Science degree in December of 2010.

When asked about her endeavors which enabled her in winning the award, Smith said, " I am very passionate about technology and how it can be used to benefit society. I've spent most of my adult career working in tech and have volunteered countless hours to events that foster interest in all tech fields. I started an I.T. company in 2013 that was recently absorbed by a larger entity earlier this year." When asked about her vision, Jacy replied, "I want to dedicate my career to really breaking down the barriers that prevent people from accessing the resources they need to be successful in tech. I enjoy networking and connecting people who like to work on finding solutions to problems. Hopefully, over time, I can connect enough people and resources to achieve something really great!"

Outside of working, Ms. Smith is actively involved with organizations such as CodeDay and has been an active organizer for the last five years. She is a past recipient of Paragon Award for volunteers. Also, she was on a winning team at the 2014 LeadingAge Hackfest and was awarded the "People's Choice Award" for the project focused on senior citizen co-housing.

When asked about her experience at the conference, Smith commented, "InterCon was a great place to meet other like-minded people. The room was full of high quality professionals who also think like me. I could only stay for one day, but I was able to connect with so many great minds!"
