9/11 Survivor to Speak at A Night Among The Stars & Stripes

STERLING, Va. - Aug. 22, 2019 - PRLog -- Retired NYFD Lieutenant and survivor of the World Trade Center collapse, Joe Torrillo will be addressing the attendees of the first annual Night Among the Stars & Stripes Fundraiser being hosted by 9/11 Promise Run Inc.  The event will be on August 24^th at the Stone House in the Cascades neighborhood of Sterling Virginia from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.

9/11 Promise Run Inc is a registered non-profit organization, founded in 2016, to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country and community and honor those who currently serve.

Each year the organization hosts a Promise Run.  This event is not a race, but a relay event of 240 miles that will start at the Pentagon Memorial on 9/9/19 and will finish at the Ground Zero in New York City on 9/11/19.  These teams consist of 8-10 members and must be able to endure an average 10-minute mile.

This year, the organization added a 9/11 Promise Bike Ride.  It will start at the Pentagon  on 9/9/19 and bike teams will travel to the 9/11 Memorial in Shanksville Pennsylvania on 9/11/19.

To date the organization has raised $150,000.00.  Among the beneficiaries of the organization's efforts are, Operation Homefront and Hope For The Warriors.

Mr. Torrillo will be sharing his inspirational story of Devastation to Inspiration at the fundraiser on August 24^th.  Joe will divulge in detail the events of that fateful day of September 11,2001.  He will be sharing his struggles through physical rehabilitation and coming to grips with survivor's guilt.  He realizes now that God spared him for a later mission in life.  He now travels the world sharing his experiences in what he calls his mission to the re-patriation of America.
