Savannah Ambucs Announces Byrd Cookie Company as Community Partner

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Aug. 5, 2019 - PRLog -- Savannah AMBUCS is pleased to announce that Byrd Cookie Company has become the organization's first Community Partner.  The Community Partner is a new program developed to create long-term relationships between Savannah based companies and the Savannah AMBUCS.  The partnership differs from traditional sponsorships in a variety of ways but most importantly, it allows for each organization to integrate into the other and work as a united front to achieve both organization's goals.  The partnership is a direct mission alignment for both organizations as community engagement is engrained in the fabric of the Byrd Cookie Company.

Celebration/AMTRYKE Presentation:  Byrd Cookie Company will host an AMTRYKE presentation to a Savannah resident who has different abilities.  AMTRYKES are three-wheeled tricycles that are custom built to the recipient's abilities.  The presentation will take place at Byrd Cookie Company located at 6710 Waters Avenue, Savannah, GA @ 5:30PM on August 15th.

About Byrd Cookie Company: In 1924, Benjamin Tillman Byrd, Sr. began baking small batches of cookies from his bakery in Savannah, Georgia, packing them in wooden crates, and personally delivering them to neighborhood markets in his Model T Ford. The cookies were soon christened "Byrd's Famous Cookies" and steadily gained popularity not only locally, but also among visitors who discovered the delicious confections while visiting Savannah.

About AMBUCS: Savannah AMBUCS is a 501c3 organization who serves people with different abilities.  The organization creates opportunities to aid peole in increasing their mobility and independence.  Currently the Savannah AMBUCS funds over 50+ AMTRYKES per year, hosts an adaptive adult bowling league and provides sponsorships to graduate level students in occupational, physical or speech therapy degree programs.
