Cognitive and Behavioral Consultants to Host 5 Day DBT Foundational Workshop for Clinicians with 33 CE Credit Hours
Five-Day Foundational Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) workshop will take place at the end of August at the Schwartzberg Training Center at CBC, located at 1 North Broadway in White Plains, New York.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - July 29, 2019 - PRLog -- Cognitive and Behavioral Consultants (CBC) will host a Five-Day Foundational Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) workshop from August 26 – 29, 2019 at the Schwartzberg Training Center at CBC, located at 1 North Broadway in White Plains, New York, thirty minutes north of Manhattan. This workshop is for clinicians and members of existing consultation teams in agencies and schools. 33 Continuing Education Credit Hours will be offered for this training to NY Social Workers and all Psychologists.
DBT is an established evidence-based treatment for multi-problem and self-harming adolescents. Dr. Alec Miller, Co-Founder of CBC, and his colleagues will teach the theories, structure, and practice of the DBT model, including strategies for individual sessions, skills training groups, inter-session coaching, and the effective management of a consultation team. The instructors will utilize various teaching formats including didactics, videos, role-play demonstrations and participant exercises. Research has shown DBT with adolescents to be effective in reducing self-harm behaviors, depression, hopelessness, dropout from treatment, psychiatric hospitalization, substance use and interpersonal difficulties.
The DBT Foundational will be taught by Dr. Alec Miller, CBC Co-Founder and DBT-Foundational Course Director, and a highly skilled team of CBC instructors. Dr. Miller is a clinical psychologist, teacher, researcher, author, and disseminator of evidence-based treatments to clinical and school settings worldwide. He has conducted federally funded clinical research and published extensively in DBT, including the three leading textbooks. He has been internationally recognized and received awards for his teaching of clinicians about how to conduct DBT with adolescents and families.
Workshop Registration Fee and Deadline: Standard Rate - $1,500 / Student Rate - $1,300. Group rates available upon request.
Mental health professionals and students interested in building and deepening their understanding of CBT principles in practice are invited to attend. Cognitive and Behavioral Consultants (CBC) is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. CBC maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
