| 2019 Moraine State Park Regatta Releases ScheduleFeatures live music, free eco-recreational activities, educational presentations, workforce development initiative
By: Moraine State Park Regatta One of the Regatta's most unique features is SummersCool presented by L.L.Bean. Attendees will have the opportunity to try new activities on the lake including sailing, kayaking and standup paddleboarding for free with the assistance of local outfitters and experts. They can also stop by the L.L.Bean Base Camp for scavenger hunts, crafts, guided hikes and campfire cooking demonstrations. The 2019 Regatta will also feature the inaugural Workforce Development Tent. Partner businesses and educational institutions including Sheetz, Armstrong, and more will be onsite exhibiting their organizations. This tent gives jobseekers the chance to meet with regional companies about employment and training opportunities as they expand their professional networks. Live at Lake Arthur includes performances from a range of musical guests all weekend long. Headliners The Dorals and Jim Donovan & Sun King Warriors will be joined by local rising talents Derek Woods Band and Angela Autumn on Saturday and classic rock cover band Right TurnClyde on Sunday. Both days feature oldies music to accompany a Car Cruise in the park from Noon-4pm. The 2019 Regatta also includes these returning events and activities: • Education Tent presented by Peoples Gas: This will be the second year offering hands-on presentations along with information tables and displays from local organizations, authors and nature enthusiasts. • Lake Arthur Lily Pad Children's Area: Kids will enjoy crafts, games, mascot visits and a book drive. • DockDogs Canine Aquatics Competition: • Sailing Races: Moraine Sailing Club hosts 4 organized races on Lake Arthur that Regatta attendees will be able to see from the shore. • Fireworks Finale by Kellner's Fireworks: Saturday @ 9pm • Oliver Outdoor Native Butterfly Release: A tribute ceremony in which visitors can purchase an individual butterfly to honor a loved one or watch the mass release of nearly 400 butterflies from the main stage.
