The Public is Invited to Meet Author & Retired Professor Dr. Monique Saigal at Fairview Commons

COSTA MESA, Calif. - July 1, 2019 - PRLog -- The public is invited to Fairview Commons senior living community on July 11^th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm to meet the award-winning author and retired professor Dr. Monique Saigal. A "hidden child" of WWII, Dr. Saigal will share her personal experiences and present her book, "Women of the French Resistance." There is no cost to attend. The first 10 people to RSVP to 949.646.6300, will receive an autographed book by the author.

Dr. Monique Saigal was born in Paris, France before the break out of WWII. On August 24, 1942, fearing for Monique's life, her grandmother put her on a train carrying non-Jewish children whose father's like Monique's had died. Scared alone and only 3 years old, Monique arrived at the train station but there was no one to pick her up. It was then that a young woman by the name of Jaqueline Baleste saw the little girl with no nametag crying in the corner. She embraced her, brought her home and cared for Monique for eight years.
