The Speedfeeder delivers springs through tubing to the point of use.  Springs can be delivered one at a time by utilizing the standard escapement, which is signaled to release one spring at a time on demand.  Springs can be delivered directly to the final point of assembly in the product, or to the spring dispensing unit which will present the singulated spring on a pin for ease of pick-up by an operator. The addition of  an optional PLC controller makes it possible to integrate a number of intelligent escapements, queue sensors and alarm indicators.

Detangling of the springs is accomplished through the use of compressed air, which creates a vortex within the sealed drum.  Aligned and singulated springs are blown out of the drum through up to 6 individual ports.

The actual drum capacity and separation rate are dependant upon the specific spring characteristics, and delivery rates of up to 100 springs per minute are possible.  In most cases we can perform testing on a  demo unit to determine the actual feed / delivery rate  and time between required refilling of the bulk supply  of your specific springs for optimum performance.

Your springs are bigger than the specs outlined for the SpeedFeeder?  Not to worry!  Colombi offers the Bigmatic and Maximatic Separation and Delivery Systems as well.  Springs up to 1-3/4" in diameter, 3"  overall length and weights of up to 15 grams can also be separated and delivered.  Custom systems can  be developed to handle other shapes and sizes of springs and wire forms as well.
